All Kentucky Lumber team members operate with the end of the customer’s project as their primary objective and continually train to meet those needs at a high level. To accomplish this, members are expected to communicate fluently about a variety of wood products, finish options, work as a team to set appropriate expectations for our customers' use of lumber, help them exceed expectations through strong leadership in conversation, and be excellent stewards of our customer’s time. All team members are expected to lead customers by example in their own selfless and honest communication, encouraging customers towards great finishes in their homes!
Additionally, all team members function in a specialty area providing personal/professional growth opportunities and serving the team as a subject matter expert. The specialty area for this role is the Communications Specialist. This area is primarily responsible for the customer experience before, during and after their visit. Ensures that the experience lines up with our unexpected level of service. A person in this role is constantly looking for ways to protect/improve each customer interaction, and to ensure the consistency of communication across all methods.
Duties:
Assists with incoming customer communication workflows and lead development.
Represents the brand and voice of the company in all customer interactions.
Willing to serve our customers, anticipate issues and develop solutions using empathy, candor, and leading questions to best ensure customer success.
Gather and protect relevant information from the customer essential for our teams and organize it in clear and concise form within our systems.
Maintain accurate working knowledge of products, grades, stain techniques, and general project information helpful to customer who is using our lumber.
Responsible for ensuring that the voice of KY Lumber is maintained across all communication methods, and for the daily checks and maintenance of each method (text, calls, emails, Facebook, Instagram, walk-ins).
Assists with understanding customer demographics. Responsible customer engagement post purchase, including review, referrals, and general assistance.
Assists in preparing and instructing team training within scope of specialty. Focus on techniques, successful and unsuccessful customer experiences, and reports noteworthy material to the team.
Responsible for management and validation of records within company CRM.
Assists in developing reports and analyzing trends related to customer behavior and requests.
Refines the customer engagement process and templates for the organization.
Desired Skills:
Background in customer service preferred.
Enjoy working with varying tasks and can shift between them fluently.
Proficient with computer basics (typing skills and program navigation), also with math basics (primarily geometry).
Self-motivated learner who is excited to add value to those around them and works well in small team environment.
Must be willing to speak with candor, without being harsh. This applies to customers and equally to team relationships.
Understand where a person is coming from, regardless of the circumstances; to meet them where they are and relate. This is the foundation of effective communication at Kentucky Lumber and allows us to guide the customer through our process.
Good memory and able to quickly recall details.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that sometimes has an extremely high number of daily contacts.
Enjoys working with people, fulfilled through interactions and deeper conversation.
Able to lift 80lbs and stand for periods of 8hrs or more.
Starting Pay: $39,000 to $45,000 per year

We are increasing the capacity to meet the needs of our rapidly growing business by bringing our once outsourced milling needs in house. We are adding an experienced Production Leader to our millworks team. This is a first shift position and overtime is possible. If you’re a leader looking for a place where you’re valued, plenty of room for advancement, and surrounded by a team of hustlers with plenty of respect for one another this may be just the job for you.
Qualified applicants should
Experience leading a small team in a production environment or similarly related field.
Have experience working with multi-head moulders including set up, refinement, and running of profiles. Weinig PowerMat or similar experience preferred. - Possess the ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining a standard of high quality.
Experience with the following equipment is a plus Weinig Moulders, Gang Rip Saws, Planers, Belt Sanders, and Dust Filtration systems
Duties:

Serving our clients remains the number one goal of Kentucky Lumber and this is achieved through consistency of action/product and adherence to a set of values. To best achieve these goals Moulder Operator is responsible for nurturing culture and developing assigned team members.
Responsible for professional training of personnel within assigned location and assisting with personal development through a quarterly review cycle process.
Work flexibly within an industry where information is rarely handled consistently and where Kentucky Lumber is simplifying the information to make our customer’s experiences with our brand as simple and consistent as possible while they pursue their dreams using our lumber
Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsible for proper storage or raw materials, loading/unloading, movement/flow of team members, workplace safety, building/ground/equipment maintenance, and physical security of the mill.
Responsible for product quality checks, wrapping of inventory, and tracking cost of product from acquisition to inventory.
Responsible for maintenance of assigned equipment and related bench stock / durable items required for execution of duties. · Primary operator of milling equipment and machinery, requiring constant lifting of boards. Able to physically stand for 9hrs a day and lift 80lbs.
Responsible for adherence to safety procedures and completion of safety training.
Assists in the delivery coordination of inventory to retail locations.
Personnel/Other
Directly leads and responsible for one team member.
Expected to assist with duties of subordinate roles during position vacancies or time off periods.
Adapt team to fit situations and adjust resources as situations require.
Reports directly to the Mill Manager

Have some experience working in a lumber mill or high-volume cabinet shop.
Possess the ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining a standard of high quality.
Desired skills, not required
Experience with the following equipment is a plus Weinig Moulders, Gang Rip Saws, Planers, Belt Sanders, and Dust Filtration systems.
Experience working with multi-head moulders including set up, refinement, and running of profiles.
Machinist or Maintenance skills.
