Why Schedule a Reservation
Our customers frequently ask if they can just choose what they want when they arrive for their appointment. We answer the same, every time:
We try to reserve everyone’s lumber ahead of their appointment. Our customers drive an average of 3-6 hours to purchase from us, so we have to make sure that we have what they need when they arrive. Once a reservation is made, the pack(s) can be held for one week, after which the lumber is released for other customers to get it.
You matter to us. Reserving lumber helps to save you time and to start you off on the right foot in your venture!
This helps to prevent three main things from happening:
Wasted time - We want to have the time to serve you well. We work hard to meet all of your needs while you are here, but we also don’t want to keep you longer than necessary.
Unable to start your project - We move through inventory at a tremendous pace. If you show up without something reserved, we can’t guarantee the availability of what you need. You may have driven 20 minutes, or 6 hours, but if we don’t have what you need, you’re going to be stuck in the tough position of not being able to start your project.
Unable to finish your project - Worse than not being able to start on your project is not being able to finish it! We always encourage you to purchase as much, or more than you think you’ll need to finish the first time if possible. This helps to prevent you from having to come back unnecessarily and running the risk of us not having the same product in stock. We reserve lumber for everyone to make sure that if you are coming back to finish your project, we can more easily help you accomplish that mission.
On the logistical side, we just don’t have the space to hold your lumber longer than 7 days. The longer your pack is sitting in the warehouse, the greater chance it has of becoming damaged as we move lumber in the warehouse to take care of other dreamers. Having a 7-day reservation limit allows us to take care of everyone quickly and minimizes the chances of something happening to your lumber.
